Last year, Honor made waves with its Magic V2, the thinnest foldable on the market. Now, Honor introduces its successor, the Honor Magic V3, boasting significant upgrades in a slimmer and lighter form.
The Honor Magic V3 measures just 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.35mm when unfolded, showcasing a 7.92-inch main screen. This slim profile is achieved with an upgraded hinge mechanism, only 2.84mm thick, and rated for 500,000 folds. The frame, crafted from 7-series aluminum alloy, ensures durability without adding weight.
Weighing in at 226 grams, the Magic V3 is lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, rivaling the weight of traditional bar phones like the Magic6 Pro. A standout feature this year is the IPX8 water resistance, a first for Honor foldables.
The cover screen is a 6.43-inch LTPO display with FHD+ resolution and a 1-120Hz refresh rate, supporting stylus input and offering 2,500 nits peak brightness. The main LTPO OLED display, measuring 7.92 inches, also provides FHD+ resolution, a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1,800 nits peak brightness. A side-mounted ultra-narrow capacitive fingerprint sensor from Goodix ensures quick and secure access.
Powering the Magic V3 is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Despite its sleek design, it houses a larger vapor chamber cooling system than its predecessor.
The camera setup includes a 50MP main shooter with OIS, a 50MP periscope lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultrawide lens. Both the cover and main screens feature 20MP front-facing cameras. Honor plans to introduce the Harcourt portrait mode in August.
Running on MagicOS 8.0.1 based on Android 14, the Magic V3 offers AI features like circle to search and Honor Parallel Space, allowing dual SIM support for two separate phone profiles.
The 5,150 mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging, ensuring long-lasting performance.
Available in red, white, green, and black, the Honor Magic V3 starts at CNY 8,999 ($1,240) for the 12/256GB model and CNY 10,999 ($1,516) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version. Sales in China begin on July 19, with global launch details pending. Additionally, a Magic V3 satellite connectivity edition is set for release later this year.
Explore the future of foldable technology with the Honor Magic V3, featuring advanced specs and a sleek, lightweight design.
